TVS is one of the main players internationally in the production of non-stick aluminium designer cookware. TVS invited us to produce a new non-stick frying pan for its collection.
The Jump Pan is the perfect mix of simplicity, innovation and style. Following careful analysis of contemporary mass-market domestic cooking products and market trends we identified an opportunity based on an important consumer insight. Many people aspire to cook food as well as their TV chef heroes, but this requires the skill and dexterity of a professional. We were inspired by this insight to create a new product with advanced aesthetic and functional features. Our Jump Pan makes it easy to “toss” food by means of a simple design innovation that has transformed itself into a winning idea: the pan’s asymmetric design allows the user to keep the food in the pan while performing a professional tossing action, which would otherwise require years of practice. From a manufacturing point of view, the new design required no major changes to the production line, and thus no additional costs. With a simple tilting of the mould, we enabled TVS to produce an entirely new product which has since become a staple within its collection.
The design has since been released on the mass market and is currently available under the COOP supermarket brand.
